The purpose of Zion City is to reach the community with the love of Christ through various community-focused programs which are then to transform lives; it is a complex where all people come to be impacted spiritually (including people of other faiths) and expressing the love of Christ in a different way.
The dream of Zion City was envisioned in 2012, as captured in the 7 mountains of influence. The Founder looked at the future of the church and what has made mainstream churches powerful and resilient over the years. He realized that God cannot entrust a person with community resources without a community assignment.
Therefore, Zion City is a Christian model of reaching the community with the love of Christ by transforming lives according to Matthew 25: and James 1:. It is a part of GCCI which is based in Nanyuki. The church exists for the purpose of Christ; other activities are just a supportive means to the Great Commission. Zion City should simply be viewed as GCCI’s arm for community outreach.

Nyumba ya Baraka program is a prophetic vision and an initiative of Prophet Paul Mwaniki, the overseer and Senior Pastor of GCCI based in Nanyuki Zion City. The program provides inspirational, nutritional, and spiritual support to the less privileged, elderly, and needy people within the Nanyuki community.
The project is undertaken by volunteers from the church congregation who registered the Zion City Community-Based Organization in 2018 to champion the project. A one-and-a-half-acre piece of land was donated by a church member, strategically located next to the Main Nanyuki Prison farmland. The organization’s postal address is P.O Box 1362 (10400) Nanyuki. Mobile No. 0710705946. The center is based in Thingithu Ward.
The project currently supports about 100 regular beneficiaries with meals and nutritional food packages every Friday, alongside periodic medical checkups. Nyumba ya Baraka runs purely on volunteer support, where partners and church members give willingly as the Lord enables them.
A leading and vibrant spiritual (Christian) Centre for the less privileged, elderly, and needy within the community.
To provide an inclusive package with the sole purpose of demonstrating Nehemiah 29:11 to the less privileged, needy, and elderly in the community.
The organization is registered by the government to provide inspirational, nutritional, and spiritual support. It exists as a separate legal entity to ensure continuity regardless of leadership changes.
Two operational committees—Feeding and Construction—are drawn from GCCI. Funding comes from church volunteers, with dedicated women (“Mothers on Duty Friday”) serving every Friday. The current weekly budget is approximately Ksh 18,000.
A building project is underway for a 100ft by 30ft center with 300-person capacity near the prison farm. Ground floor and beams are complete; roofing is in progress.

Education is the equalizer of all. It enables people of different walks of life, backgrounds, or religions to experience equal opportunities, expand their thinking, and enhance their way of doing things. A library is a vital resource that links the current generation with the future, offering a space for learning and growth. For children who often lack basic amenities like internet and computer infrastructure, a library provides access to these crucial resources. Even college students benefit greatly from a well-equipped and quiet environment for study.
The communities of Nanyuki Municipality—Majengo, Ichuga, Baraka, Kwa Mbuzi, Likii, and surrounding areas—face major educational disparities. Existing libraries are outdated and lack essential resources like internet connectivity. With recent curriculum changes emphasizing digital literacy, students without access to modern tools are left behind. By establishing a modern, well-equipped community library, we aim to bridge these gaps and enable inclusive participation in the digital age.
Zion City Community-Based Organization (CBO), established in 2017 (Reg. No: NUK/HUDC/041), brings together professionals, civil servants, religious leaders, retirees, and community advocates under a non-political, non-religious framework. The organization actively addresses education gaps, supports employment, and enhances community welfare. Through financial contributions, volunteerism, and networking, members champion projects like this library. Their vision is an economically and socially empowered community with equal opportunities for all children, built on values of integrity, accountability, and inclusivity.

The team meets twice a month and contributes Ksh. 300 per meeting. Every member saves Ksh. 20 daily, totaling Ksh. 600 monthly. They practice table banking, offering members capital for business with one-month returns plus interest. They also do sustainable farming using small spaces like car tires and containers. Additionally, they hold sessions on family and health matters.
The group owns two title deeds: two plots in Taji and three shares in Endana. Table banking began with Ksh. 40,000 in 2022 and now circulates Ksh. 160,000. The group currently has 42 members, with women actively running businesses using skills they acquired.
