Background

Glory Christian Church International (GCCI) - Maralal was officially launched on 13th June 2021 by Pastor Patrick Juma and his wife Lucy Juma, who serve as the resident ministers under the leadership of Prophet Paul Mwaniki. Their mission in Maralal began as part of the commission’s broader vision to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ.

The church's humble beginnings were marked by God's favor, as the management of Seasons Hotel, near Dumisha Sacco, offered their hall free of charge for the church's initial gatherings. During the official launch, ministers from the mother church and other satellite churches, sent by Prophet Paul Mwaniki, joined to support the establishment of the new branch.

The first members of GCCI Maralal were Pastor Juma’s family and Makena’s family, recognized as the first fruits of the new congregation.

Initially, services continued at Seasons Hotel until September 2021, when Pastor Juma took a step of faith and leased land near Kakisha. The church remained at that location for two years. However, due to growth and space limitations, a new and larger site was secured behind Lporos Primary School, which is the church’s current location.

Pastor Patrick Juma dedicated significant effort to evangelism, discipleship, and character development. Through his ministry, many lives were transformed, including individuals such as John Kiya (famously known as OCS), Whitney Wairimu, and others. The church has continued to grow, rooted in sound biblical teaching, fellowship, and the principle of love and unity, nurturing a strong, family-like community of believers.
